Oh look, a fishing game. (Too tired to make a witty comment) What? This isn't a copy pasta of yesterday's review...this is an enhanced review. You can tell because I used the word "pro" in the title.
Okay, if you read yesterday's review, you pretty much know what this game is about. So what exactly is different in the "pro edition"? Money. Bass Masters Classic Pro Edition has a couple of small changes, but the biggest difference can be found in the massive amounts of product placement. In the original, you played as goofy named fictional fishermen using fictional reels and rods and so forth. However, someone over at Black Pearl (also known as THQ) envisioned this game as a goldmine. Shortly after, this "enhanced" version came out. This time, it included famous real life fishermen and actual products by major fishing industries. Despite the obvious attempt at cashing in on product placement, the new developers did fix this game up, and they even included bass this time.
Starting off, we get a new, and pointless title screen. We also have the option between amateur and pro this time around. Unfortunately, my boy Hooker B. Sharp isn't in the pro edition, so I had to settle for the John Ritter look-alike, Shaw Grigsby Jr.
First improvement you are likely to notice is the controls have been fixed a bit. The boat can actually go straight this time, and getting stuck isn't nearly as bad. The fishing controls have been tweaked, making it a lot more easier to actually catch fish now. The casting controls, however, are still fucking worthless.
Audio is the same, but now we can change "radio stations". Unfortunately, in this fucked up fishing universe, the radio only has 2 stations, and the both play the same song FOREVER. Unlike the radio of our universe, where we have millions of stations, and none of them will ever play a song you actually want to hear.
Graphics had a bit of an overhaul as well, but...it's a fishing game. It's still water, a boat, the lure, and 4 kinds of fish. Now they're just more detailed. It was probably done so the product placement wouldn't look bad.
Gameplay is A LOT better, mainly due to the fact that they added bass to the game. There's also the fact that the fish actually give a shit about you're lure too. In the previous game, fish would swim around your lure just to be assholes. Now, they just snap your line and take your bait. Much better.
Bass Masters Classic Pro Edition is a shameless excuse to cash in on product placement, but they did make some improvements. That is why I'm giving this game 2 and half creepy faces out of 5. Make sure to check back tomorrow for another god damn fishing game.

Wow awesome review!
Fishing games are SO boring... I can't stand them.
lol@ the trolls of the sea.
it's crazy that they wouldn't make the casting controls better, that's like the most important part of a fishing game. kudos on another good review!
Damn, two basses?
I'm speechless.
Well the music is a bit better now, still annoying but it has some rhythm to it
I think the best fishing games were actually minigames in RPGs.
@SpringyB like the ones in the Breath of Fire games? I would have to agree.
lolz, another fishing game
this one looks as boring as the other... :(
hahaha very nice :D I like fishing :D
Classically, why does your "Creepy face" bear a striking resemblance to he who shall not be names? lol What a way to start my day. Oh, and the next time we go fishing you better catch 135 ;bs of fish =P <3
Sometimes I have problems driving boats in straight lines in real life. Shame about the radio station problems though.
I remember people were crazy about these fishing games on Sega. Yeah, I don't get it either. Maybe it's the product placement.
One fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish.
one of the best games of all time, honestly.
I can't wait until he hits Drakkhen.

Fishing games just started to get good. I played a snes fishing game once and it was so boring I think I closed the console after 15minutes.

Meh, fishing games were never as near as good as the real thing
As much as I hate fishing, fishing games can be quite fun.
I'd love to try it, haha.

@Classically Trained Nub
Haha yeah! That's the one that actually came to mind.
Well at least they tried to improve it after getting their ad-checks. I'd love to have you find a fishing game that actually is kind fun, haha.
I'm glad to hear the bass is no longer a lie.
