REAL GAMES - THE ADVENTURES OF BATMAN AND ROBIN

Fuck Yeah. A Batman game made by Konami? A game based on the cartoon? Hold on, I need to change my pants.

The Adventures of Batman and Robin may be a confusing title, as it may bring up memories of the horrible movie with a similar name: Batman and Robin. Fortunately, this game has nothing to do with that pile of shit, and instead, is based on the awesome cartoon, Batman: The Animated Series. For those of you that do not know, B:TAS is often regarded as the best cartoon in the 90's, and in my opinion, the best cartoon of all time. Clean animation, the best voice actors money can buy, and some seriously dark undertones...yep, this show had it all. So how will a game measure up to these standards? Pretty god damn well.

"Wow.  What the fuck did I just watch?  Why couldn't you have died like Batman's parents instead of making me watch this shit?" - Me to my parents at age 14
We start the game off with the most awesome comic book hero ever, Batman. As you make your way from scene to scene, you deliver justice in the only way you know how. By punching bitches in the face. This game is already better than 90% of the other garbage released with the Batman title. In fact, before Arkham Asylum, this was the only Batman game worth playing at all.

Alright, lets get this thing started. The controls are perfect. You got your main attack, jump, weapon\item rotation, weapon\item use, block, and pause. With as many weapons and other stuff at your disposal, it would have been easy to fuck this up, but Konami are pros at this shit.

Duuuuh duh duh duuuh duuuuuuuh duuh! I wonder how many of you read that while humming the theme from the animated series. Anyway, the music in this game stays true to the source. You will only find top quality stuff here folks. Even the sound effects are good. Smashing someones face in has never sounded so awesome.

Did you like the art style and animation from the cartoon? Well you're in luck, because everything in this game looks like it was taken straight from the show. The stage design is glorious, the sprite animations are perfect, and even the fancy lighting techniques that they use in this game are amazing.

And finally, the gameplay. The epic gameplay. Let me give you an idea of what you are in for. In the first stage you have a fist fight with the Joker on a moving rolling coaster, complete with loops. Then you grapple from wall to wall climbing the side of a building Sam Fisher style just so you can have a rooftop chase with Catwoman. Oh, and the path is lit up with helicopter spotlights. This game has it all, including the famous "Maze of the Minotaur" from the tv show. And a chase in the Batmobile. And..and...okay I think you get the point. Needless to say, if the Super Nintendo was capable of doing it, Konami fucking did it.

Big deal.  What you don't see in this picture is Batman doing the same thing right above Sam.  He's going to instill justice on two birds with the same boot.
If you are a fan of having fun, I definitely suggest you give this game a play. If you didn't know by now that this game gets 5 sexy Harleys out of 5, then you obviously weren't paying attention.  The only complaint I have is that the game doesn't last forever.  I'm pretty sure there were supposed to be more stages, but for some reason they got cut.  For example, in the final gauntlet, you fight everyone you have faced thus far...plus Man-Bat and Clayface.  Where are my Man-Bat and Clayface stages Konami?  WHERE!?

This game was so fun, I beat it twice!  Okay...actually I just forgot to set the difficulty to hard on my first play through, and had to do it all over.  But it was still fun.
